Sebi has nearly three decades of diverse experience with Otis, beginning as a graduate engineer trainee working closely with equipment, and later progressing on to management positions in India, Singapore, the Philippines and the Gulf area. He had the pleasure of working on the Burj Khalifa - a major feat, as nothing like the 803 meter-tall building had been executed before.
Dwelling on my journey, says Sebi, the one big lesson for me is that a leader needs to guide with love and understand that people are what make a company distinct. Technologies can become obsolete and strategies will change, but people remain a constant. Nurturing talent and growth in all its various forms is what will keep a company relevant throughout the ages.
Sebi was named President of Otis India in 2015, and is currently Chairman of the Elevators & Escalators Division of the Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers' Association (IEEMA).
Away from his demanding and exciting work, Sebi enjoys French wine and cinema. He also loves reading autobiographies, which inspire him to walk on untrodden paths and discover new avenues of progress.
Regional Director, East India
C A Nagraj has been with Otis for over 29 years, having worked in varied roles from service to installation to new sales. With this, Nagraj carries with him an understanding of Otis’ value proposition and how the organization works. Nagraj is well-respected amongst customers and has been successful in bringing major real estate players into Otis’ fold. His unfailing commitment to the customer’s needs earns him this reputation. With his team, he knows each one’s strength and carefully leverages it to achieve collective success. Nagraj is a stickler for details whilst keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
Nagraj fondly remembers working on a 98 unit project, Brigade Meadows in Bengaluru and ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata. In his spare time, he enjoys playing cricket and carom. Music helps him relax. Nagraj is a firm believer that sports and CSR activities help team members bond leading to increased productivity at the workplace.
Regional Director, South India
Hrishikesh started his career in the vertical transportation industry in 2000, holding various roles in sales and operations in the Western part of the country. Prior to heading the South operation for Otis, he headed the Eastern region operations. This has given Hrishi a deeper understanding of the varied cultural nuances amongst customers in a widely diverse country like India. Hrishikesh has also played a large role in establishing Otis’ JV business in Sri Lanka.
Passionate about developing programs that bridge the gap between sales teams and customer requirements, he has helped put together modules on sales effectiveness and management. Hrishi has had the privilege of working on complex projects and structures with some big name developers. The one he is most proud of is the Goldman Sachs, Bengaluru campus - the largest offshore campus for the largest investment bank, where we will be supplying our Gen2’s.
If it wasn’t for vertical transportation, Hrishi would be in the family garment business. He is a lover of nature, enjoys capturing interesting landscapes on his camera and playing with his kids. Hrishi also enjoys dancing, and is often the life of the party.
Regional Director, West India
Mani is energetic and a dynamic leader with a passion for developing new business and promoting the Otis brand throughout the West Region. Mani began his career in the elevator industry and has stuck right through for over 25 years. He is a key member of the Disha team, a project that is focused on improving and streamlining performance and increasing service operations throughout the region.
Liked by all, Mani is approachable, easy to talk to and known for staying calm at all times. These traits make him a valuable team member when interfacing with stakeholders and regulatory laws.
In his free time, Mani enjoys playing badminton and cricket. He loves Paragliding, an adventure sport he believes that develops grit and courage. Mani’s mantra is life is a sport, sometimes you win and the other times you learn.
Regional Director, North India
Stephen joined Otis over 30 years ago as a service mechanic and has held several positions including field operations director and heading the service vertical for Otis India. Today, Stephen is the Regional Director for North India. As a professional he is very detail oriented, has in-depth technical knowledge and views everything from multiple perspectives.
As a person he is very talented. He paints, loves photography, as well as a seasoned musician who plays the keyboard and guitar. He is a key member of the Otis India CSR committee and has always driven CSR initiatives with the teams he has led.
Stephen graduated from Otis University in 2011, attended the Darden Management program in 2016 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration & Diploma in Electrical Engineering through a UTC scholarship.
When he is not working he loves spending time with his children. If he is travelling, you will find him taking pictures on his mobile phone.
Head of Sales, Marketing, Strategy and M&A for Otis India
Sridhar has had a variety of interesting assignments in Otis. He headed two JV companies in India and led the acquisition of service portfolio companies across India, Singapore, Philippines and Japan. He also headed the Marketing, Communication and Strategy function for the Northeast Asia Region covering Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Sridhar is currently the Head of Sales, Marketing, Strategy and M&A for Otis India.
One of his favorite projects was the acquisition of Schindler’s service business in Japan in 2016 - one of the largest portfolio acquisitions at Otis. The project gave him an opportunity to live and work in Japan. Another enjoyable project, prior to joining Otis, was working in the glass flacconage business which involved marketing perfume and nail polish bottles for global brands like Body Shop, L’Oréal and Revlon.
Sridhar is an extremely focused and logical individual with immense energy. In addition, he is interested in the role of digitalization and artificial intelligence in the elevator industry. The potential of having a 100% safe, self-correcting or self-repairing elevator with no entrapments is a fascinating possibility, he believes.
In his spare time, Sridhar enjoys running, writing short stories and playing soccer with his son and basketball with his daughter.
President, Otis Europe, Middle East and Africa
Patrick has been with us since 1991, when he joined the new equipment sales team for Otis France. He progressed through the business, becoming Director, New Equipment Operations and Marketing for Otis France in 2005.
Since then, Patrick’s career has grown from strength to strength. He became Area Director for Eastern Europe and Managing Director, Russia in 2006, before moving up to Vice President, Strategy & Business Development at our global HQ. 2012 saw him appointed as President, Pacific Asia Area and a year later he became President, South Asia Pacific for UTC Building & Industrial Systems (BIS). This encompassed numerous key challenges, such as managing the BIS businesses in India, South East Asia and Australasia. Patrick has also recently served as President BIS, Europe Region.
This exciting range of challenges has prepared and equipped Patrick well for his current position of President, Otis Europe, Middle East and Africa. Based in Brussels, his responsibilities encompass sales, marketing, installation, service, and operations across these regions.
With a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Ecole Superieure Dirigeants d’Enterprise, Paris, Patrick’s academic studies focused particularly on economics, management and human resources. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the French government.
A self-described technology zealot, Judy brings to the job an entrepreneur’s passion for reinventing businesses to better serve customers and grow into new markets. Her mission at Otis: to bring the energy of a startup to an iconic company that has led the industry it created for 165 years.
“We have to stay focused on the future,” she says. “And we can’t be afraid to be impatient, because change is a good, inherently positive thing.”
An engineer by training, Judy landed her first management job at 23. She went on to senior leadership roles at three global icons – IBM, Lockheed Martin and Siemens AG. She was serving as CEO of both Siemens USA and Dresser-Rand, a Siemens business, when recruited to run Otis.
She built her career on a host of challenging assignments, creating solutions for both global customers and government entities. As CEO of Siemens USA, Judy led a $24 billion powerhouse with 50,000 U.S. employees and 60 manufacturing locations. She describes Siemens as an industrial innovator focused on electrification, automation and digitalisation.
Judy is a big believer in the idea that technology exists to serve the common good. She applies digital technologies and uses social media to amplify the reach of her message. For Judy, leadership is about creating a sense of mission among employees. “People make a decision every day about what kind of work they’re going to do,” she says. “That’s what I love about Otis people – they know that what we do matters. We keep the world moving.”
Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, Strategy and Information Technology
In his 27-year career with UTC and Otis, Mark has traveled extensively around the world with varied global and regional leadership positions in the company, including a six-year period residing in Asia.
Starting at Otis in 1989, Mark had numerous roles before moving to Singapore in 1998. There, as Regional Director of Treasury and Asset Management for the Asia Pacific Region, he also worked on acquisitions and integration. In 2001, he transferred to Hong Kong where he was CFO for the South Asia Pacific region, helping restore those companies following the 1998 Asian economic crisis. He returned to the US in 2004 to lead the worldwide Otis Financial Planning & Analysis function.
His diverse background and deep interest in international business led to his move to UTC corporate in 2007 as leader for UTC Financial Planning & Analysis. From there he has added to his varied industry exposure by becoming Carrier Vice President, Finance & CFO, and later CFO for UTC Climate, Controls & Security. He was also Vice President, Finance & CFO for UTC Building & Industrial Systems.
Mark was appointed to his present role of Vice President, Finance & CFO, Strategy and IT for Otis, in October 2015.
Vice President and General Counsel
Nora has some serious working credentials with Otis. She’s held all kinds of legal positions going back to 2000.
Early in her career she was closely involved in our 150th anniversary celebrations, helping to plan and realise a range of events – it really helped Nora connect with our unique heritage and understand the personal pride that people feel being a part of Otis. This belief in the importance of individuals and great working relationships is something that Nora has embraced at every stage:
“I reflect upon my first UTC job a lot – working as a lawyer supporting branches in the southeast US exposed me to the reality of how we succeed – through the dedication of our people to servicing individual customers.”
Nora is a self-proclaimed dog fanatic – and away from work you’ll usually find her 130-pound Newfoundland, Atlas, by her side.
Nora also really enjoys seasonal activities like skiing in the winter and biking and going to the beach all summer. Her love of good food and wine lasts all year round and having travelled widely through work, she can go for some pretty exotic options.
Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Christian began his UTC career at Carrier in 2003, where he worked as Human Resources Director for global operations, before moving to Singapore to lead Carrier’s Asia Pacific HR function.
Returning to the US in 2006, Christian was appointed Vice President, Human Resources, for the global commercial HVAC business. He then joined the UTC Corporate office in 2007, where he directed the global talent function, including executive staffing, succession planning and leadership development.
A passion for sailing has equipped Christian with skills such as patience, dexterity and balance that have served him well in HR across multiple industries, including automotive, publishing and aviation. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Villanova University and a master’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.
Christian is deeply interested in how investments in digital capabilities will impact the role of leaders and how they engage with their employees – something he is keeping a close eye on in his current position of Vice President and CHRO of Otis Elevator Company, which he has held since 2015. In this role, Christian leads all aspects of the global HR function. He’s also a member of the Otis Executive Committee and works closely with the senior executive team to achieve Otis’ strategic business priorities.
A consummate professional, Tony brings more than 30 years’ diverse experience within UTC to his role. He joined Pratt & Whitney in 1984, before progressing through various operations and general management positions with the UTC Corporate office, UTC Fire & Security and Otis. From Director of Worldwide ACE at UTC to Managing Director of Nippon Otis, Tony moved upwards, assuming more responsibility with every step and gaining priceless expertise at the same time.
Before joining Otis Service, Tony was President, Otis China Limited where he drove dramatic growth and increased the service portfolio to more than 100,000 units under contract. He also helped to shape a more innovative and effective service business by introducing many of our advanced and pioneering processes, such as digital tools and specialised service packages for key customer segments.
Today, Tony leads our global service organisation and is a member of the Otis Executive Committee. His game-changing responsibilities include setting our global service standards, spearheading and inspiring innovation, and ensuring the success of our ambitious digital transformation strategy.
Tony gained a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Florida Atlantic University and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
Senior Vice President, Operations and Engineering
Through numerous innovative projects, Thierry will help redefine elevation and drive the growth of engineering. His expertise and industry understanding will contribute to Otis’ global presence and its reputation as the undisputable leader in products, service and design.
A member of the European Lift Association, Thierry is at home in the world of elevation.
Within UTC, Thierry has also worked on the launch of the environmentally conscious CO2OLtec® system in the Carrier Refrigeration business.
Thierry’s academia feeds his passion and his professional work. He has a PhD, where his research earned the attention of an international jury, and he lectured on Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer at prestigious Engineering colleges in Paris and Lyon.
A lover of the great outdoors, Thierry is a keen mountain biker, scuba diver and fencer, and as a young man placed 22nd in the world rankings of international fencing.
He has 2 children that share his academic success as well as his passion for travel and scuba diving.
