Vice President, Global Major Projects
Haran is an international expert in the world of engineering and operations. Since joining Otis in Australia, Haran has worked for the company in Malaysia, USA, Germany, Singapore, and China. He has been part of significant development projects including Malaysia’s iconic Petronas Towers and the Hyderabad Metro in India.
Working in different areas of business across a variety of cultures, Haran now works in the commercial side of elevation. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers in the USA, and his passion for engineering and technological development goes beyond the office.
From the Internet of Things to Artificial Intelligence, Haran is fascinated by the digitisation of the world and how this will impact productivity across all industries. He’s also engaged in education and has helped students get involved in technology and engineering through events such as robotics competitions.
Competitive squash and rugby have enriched his life. He champions sport as the key to building successful relationships in and out of work: ‘Ultimately, sport teaches us about persistence, being competitive and working as a team.’
Born in Sri Lanka, Haran spent most of his formative years in Southern Africa. He is involved in life-changing charity work helping orphans, families and relatives impacted by the recent civil war in Sri Lanka. He is a firm believer that education is the key to a better life and is supporting individuals without proper means through secondary school and university education.
Vice President, Sales, Global Major Projects
There's no doubt that Rick is the real deal: a genuine Otis lifer. He's been with us since May 1983. In that time, he's built up an extraordinary breadth of expertise and experience in project management, service, NE, construction, marketing and engineering.
Pinpointing the peaks is tricky, says Rick, as every high-rise is an exciting, absorbing challenge, but if pressed, Burj Khalifa in Dubai certainly stands out, as it would at 830 metres…
Besides the obvious satisfaction gained from working on breathtaking architectural icons, Rick feels that the best thing about his long career with us has been the opportunity to meet and work with so many amazing, talented people from all over the world.
So how do you spend your precious spare time when you’re a key member of our legendary global major projects team? In Rick's case, leisure can mean the thrill of downhill skiing, hunting and golf. He does spend some time indoors relaxing, where he practises the craft of woodworking – it’s a long way from the soaring, gleaming profiles of the world’s urban skylines and that's the idea.
Director, Infrastructure, Global Major Projects
A global employee for a global company, Paschal continues to develop his extensive experience working on major projects throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. During his 20-year career with Otis, he has successfully applied his expertise in several areas of the business.
Notably, he was Project Director for the multi-million dollar development at the World Trade Centre Transportation Hub in New York. Paschal considers this to be one of his most challenging and rewarding projects, and views the landmark as an iconic and prestigious infrastructure of the world. Working on this particular project provided him with the opportunity to work with some of the most respected professionals in the industry.
In addition to his role within the global major projects team, Paschal has hosted a number of workshops in China and Europe related to product development and trade relations within the transport industry. From helping major European cities to enhance their Metro systems, to building company and industry communications between China and the USA, Paschal has been integral to an exciting variety of projects in recent years.
Work aside, Paschal enjoys translating his capacity for endurance and competition to the world of sport. He has rowed at international level and competed in the Henley Regatta numerous times, as well as being crowned the New Jersey State Champion in 2013 for road cycling. He currently lives in the UK with his wife, 2 curious kids and one Bavarian Schnauzer called Schnoop.
Senior Director, Worldwide Field Operations
Joe has been in the game for nearly 40 years. Starting his career with Otis in 1979, Joe’s work is an integral part of the company’s journey.
From his role as Manager of Operations, to becoming a Senior Director in 2008, Joe has helped Otis reach new heights with the present-day phenomenon of supertall architecture. Now responsible for the Installation and Service Personnel on a global scale, Joe is proud to have worked on the world’s tallest building – Dubai’s stunning Burj Khalifa.
Alongside his career with Otis, Joe had a number of successful years working in Manhattan Service, and was a member of the Otis Manhattan team that won the UTC Rentschler award for the 9/11 recovery efforts.
Joe has given back to the Otis community over the years, facilitating more than 10 different Otis Field and Major Project Universities.
Growing up on the New Jersey shore, Joe has a love for the fresh air, the beach, and the ocean. He is an east coast family man and states fathering his 2 wonderful daughters as his biggest achievement.
