Vice President & Managing Director, UK and Ireland
Hemant has gained almost two decades of diverse experience within UTC and has been part of some spectacular recent success stories. A specialist in Marketing, Business Strategy and P&L leadership, he led a cross function team that won our largest ever new equipment contract – the Thomson line in Singapore. He was also closely involved in the complex negotiations surrounding 22 Bishopsgate in London, which was secured despite the unpredictable climate surrounding the referendum in 2016.
All Hemant’s expertise has been gained and honed in the construction and urban environment sectors, mainly in India and Asia, and he now spearheads our UK & Ireland team, bringing benefits of a truly varied career – he is one of a very select group who have worked for all three of UTC’s business divisions.
Away from his demanding and exciting work, Hemant aspires to be a good golfer and is an avid follower of Formula 1. He believes there are some good lessons to be learned from the pinnacle of motorsport too. Despite the focus on individual drivers, it is 100% a team sport, filled with gifted people at every level and also a developing ground for the very latest technology.
A sports enthusiast playing rugby and cycling, Ales was drawn to the UK to lead the service business during one of its most exciting phases in history – implementing Digital Service Transformation to ensure that we exceed customers’ expectations using the latest technology, processes, and tools.
“The customer is at the centre of everything we do,” he says. “And to have a great experience, we need to have the best tools and passionate people who are committed each day to giving the best service.”
He leads over 800 people to deliver a personalised and proactive service maintaining lifts and escalators, and meeting customers’ challenges head on using mobile tools, proprietary apps, and a recently launched national service Customer Relationship Management System.
Equipping 600 service engineers with iPhones and proprietary apps to provide an outstanding customer service, Ales is proud that they can inspect our installations, find and order the part they need, review the instructions for installing that part, consult safety procedures and more—right from wherever they’re working. With service CRM, transparent and real time information on jobs and work history are helping to foster a closer relationship between service engineers and our customers.
Before joining Otis UK, Ales’ career with Otis spans 11 years where he was based in Eastern Europe, running BIS initially and prior to that Otis Czech Republic and Slovakia. Fluent in German, English, Czech and conversant in Russian, Ales’ other responsibilities cover growth of the modernization business and improving the customer experience.
He enjoys spending time with his two children and going out to music concerts.
New Equipment Operations Director
Preston’s global career at Otis over the past 18 years has taken him from his homeland in the US to Asia and now Europe leading on the installation of our lifts in our high profile towers that are set to change city skylines, such as TwentyTwo Bishopsgate in London and Owen Street in Manchester.
He started his career as a mechanic in the US and moved into operational and managerial roles in Singapore and India including Director, New Equipment Installation, Otis Singapore from Sep 2013 to Feb 2017. There he significantly reduced operational delays installing infrastructure across our portfolio. Considering his travels, Preston has many intriguing tales about some of the best places to experience around the world. Prior to his current role, Preston worked in the EMEA Field organization.
Preston’s philosophy is that teamwork that underpins success. “It is by communicating with each other and helping to share the load will we meet our customers’ expectations,” he says.
Director, New Equipment Sales, Marketing & Engineering
Joining us seven years ago, as the European High Rise Manager, Bertrand quickly rose through the ranks. In 2012, he became the Europe and Africa Major Project Senior Manager before being appointed as BIS Major Project Director for Otis UK & Ireland in October 2015. In December 2015, Bertrand was appointed in to his current role leading the NE Sales, Marketing and Technical Department for the UK&I.
The company’s growth within high profile buildings is showcasing Gen2 technology and the benefits that customers can enjoy under the Internet of Things (IoT) transformation programme where Otis’ physical assets are being connected to the cloud to enable proactive and predictive maintenance to address issues before they become problems. With today’s smarter, connected elevators, Otis is harnessing the power of digital technology and IoT to deliver an even higher level of customized service.
Bertrand is a strong believer in relationship building and performance in establishing the visibility and experience of the Otis brand. “Smooth handovers from the new equipment to service teams will ensure that our customers are happy at every point in their relationship with us,” he says. “Efficient and timely field delivery is very important for our success.”
His hobbies include football, tennis, and mountain walking.
Pan TfL Director
Mandeep joined us in 2015 from London Underground with which Otis has had a relationship for over 100 years, helping to bring one of the world’s busiest transport systems to life with the first public escalator installed in Earl’s Court Station in 1911.
Mandeep is responsible for the delivery of 64 escalators for the Elizabeth line - a new railway which will increase central London rail capacity by 10% and increase choice of travel. This is part of the wider Crossrail, Europe’s largest infrastructure engineering project, which will add an estimated £42bn to the UK’s economy. The opening of the Elizabeth line in December 2018 will usher in a significant milestone for Otis UK in moving over 200 million passengers a year.
An ambitious and innovative engineering feat, site access to install escalators on Crossrail was extremely tight and, in some cases, with just millimetres to spare. Mandeep is proud of the role Otis UK has played in bringing a “world class delivery for a world class city development. This is the epitome of complex detailed logistical planning and a very tough job to pull off. We have enjoyed rising to the challenge.”
A lover of walking and cycling with his family, Mandeep also enjoys being a culture and travel connoisseur.

This exciting range of challenges has prepared and equipped Patrick well for his current position of President, Otis Europe, Middle East and Africa. Based in Brussels, his responsibilities encompass sales, marketing, installation, service, and operations across these regions.
With a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Ecole Superieure Dirigeants d’Enterprise, Paris, Patrick’s academic studies focused particularly on economics, management and human resources. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the French government.
A self-described technology zealot, Judy brings to the job an entrepreneur’s passion for reinventing businesses to better serve customers and grow into new markets. Her mission at Otis: to bring the energy of a startup to an iconic company that has led the industry it created for 165 years.
“We have to stay focused on the future,” she says. “And we can’t be afraid to be impatient, because change is a good, inherently positive thing.”
An engineer by training, Judy landed her first management job at 23. She went on to senior leadership roles at three global icons – IBM, Lockheed Martin and Siemens AG. She was serving as CEO of both Siemens USA and Dresser-Rand, a Siemens business, when recruited to run Otis.

Nora has some serious working credentials with Otis. She’s held all kinds of legal positions going back to 2000.
Early in her career she was closely involved in our 150th anniversary celebrations, helping to plan and realise a range of events – it really helped Nora connect with our unique heritage and understand the personal pride that people feel being a part of Otis. This belief in the importance of individuals and great working relationships is something that Nora has embraced at every stage:
“I reflect upon my first UTC job a lot – working as a lawyer supporting branches in the southeast US exposed me to the reality of how we succeed – through the dedication of our people to servicing individual customers.”
Nora is a self-proclaimed dog fanatic – and away from work you’ll usually find her 130-pound Newfoundland, Atlas, by her side.
Nora also really enjoys seasonal activities like skiing in the winter and biking and going to the beach all summer. Her love of good food and wine lasts all year round and having travelled widely through work, she can go for some pretty exotic options.
