Executive Director and General Manager
“The building blocks of Otis success are passionate, talented employees and delighted customers,” says Ray Bisson, Executive Director and General Manager of Otis UK & Ireland. “Our digital transformation is enabling us to provide a personalised customer experience which is critical to urban mobility.” Responsible for leading a workforce of 1500 employees, Ray joined the organisation in 2018 from Otis New York City where he was Vice President for two years.
Ray’s journey in Otis began in 2000 as a sales trainee interested in combining his electrical engineering degree with business development in Florida. He quickly progressed through the ranks with increasing sales and operational responsibilities across the US where he spearheaded win-win solutions for customers in challenging assignments. He has been part of the great success story of Hudson Yards development in Manhattan’s West Side where Otis supplied 73 elevator and escalator units for office, retail, residential and hotel use.
Ray is a firm believer that teamwork is key to achievement in the increasingly complex, technologically demanding projects that Otis UK & Ireland is involved in. “It’s the diversity of thought and skill and focus on the end goal that ensures we bring an answer to the customer’s problem,” he says. “With 125 years of operating experience in the UK, we’ve been at the heart of moving people through the most iconic buildings in history.”
Leading 600 staff, Ales is implementing Digital Service Transformation to ensure that we exceed customers’ expectations in lifts and escalators maintenance using the latest technology, processes, and tools.
“The customer is at the centre of everything we do,” he says. “And to have a great experience, we need to have the best tools and passionate people who are committed each day to giving the best service.”
He is responsible for the growth of the maintenance and modernisation businesses and improving the customer experience.
Equipping 400 service engineers with iPhones and proprietary apps to provide an outstanding customer service, Ales is proud that they will be able to inspect our installations, find and order the part they need, review the instructions for installing that part, consult safety procedures and more—right from wherever they’re working. With our Service Customer Relationship Management system, transparent and real time information on jobs and work history are helping to foster a closer relationship between service engineers and our customers.
Before joining Otis UK & Ireland, Ales’ career with Otis spans 11 years where he was based in Central Europe, running BIS initially and prior to that Otis Czech Republic and Slovakia. He is fluent in German, English, Czech and conversant in Russian.
A cycling enthusiast, Ales enjoys spending time with his two children and going out to music concerts.

In his role, he leads the New Equipment business unit, and focuses on aligning and providing exceptional customer service across sales, marketing, and field operations to ensure slick delivery that improves our profitability, and enhances our market coverage and share of segment.

Preston’s global career at Otis over the past 18 years has taken him from his homeland in the US to Asia and now Europe leading on the installation of our lifts in our high profile towers that are set to change city skylines, such as TwentyTwo Bishopsgate in London and Owen Street in Manchester.
He started his career as a mechanic in the US and moved into operational and managerial roles in Singapore and India including Director, New Equipment Installation, Otis Singapore from Sep 2013 to Feb 2017. There he significantly reduced operational delays installing infrastructure across our portfolio. Considering his travels, Preston has many intriguing tales about some of the best places to experience around the world. Prior to his current role, Preston worked in the EMEA Field organization.
Preston’s philosophy is that teamwork that underpins success. “It is by communicating with each other and helping to share the load will we meet our customers’ expectations,” he says.
Pan TfL Director
Mandeep joined us in 2015 from London Underground with which Otis has had a relationship for over 100 years, helping to bring one of the world’s busiest transport systems to life with the first public escalator installed in Earl’s Court Station in 1911.
Mandeep is responsible for the delivery of escalators for the London Underground and the Elizabeth line - a new railway which will increase central London rail capacity by 10% and increase choice of travel. This is part of the wider Crossrail, Europe’s largest infrastructure engineering project, which will add an estimated £42bn to the UK’s economy. The opening of the Elizabeth line in December 2018 will usher in a significant milestone in moving over 200 million passengers a year.
An ambitious and innovative engineering feat, site access to install escalators on Crossrail was extremely tight and, in some cases, with just millimetres to spare. Mandeep is proud of the role Otis UK has played. “This the epitome of complex detailed logistical planning and a very tough job to pull off. We have enjoyed rising to the challenge.”
A lover of walking and cycling with his family, Mandeep also enjoys being a culture and travel connoisseur.
