Otis Germany and the Max Bögl group have entered a strategic agreement. With this cooperation, the world's leading elevator and escalator manufacturer and the German construction industry company are establishing a new business model that will enable customers to obtain elevator modules in high-quality serial production from a single source and turn the 'Living Modular' concept into reality. Otis will supply elevator components with state-of-the-art technology, which will be assembled directly at the Max Bögl plant by Otis. Otis is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

As part of Max Bögl's modular residential construction system “maxmodul,” Otis elevators, as well as residential modules, have a modular design and are serially produced with a high degree of prefabrication. These innovative all-inclusive systems, consisting of a prefabricated elevator shaft and pre-assembled Otis Gen2® Life elevator technology, address target groups such as construction companies, property developers, architects and planners and offer decisive advantages such as a reduction of manufacturing costs, fast delivery, direct procurement from the manufacturer and distributor as well as a central point of contact from the design stage all the way to the rapid commissioning on the construction site.
