Vice President & Managing Director, Otis Middle East
Maged Nagib has been Managing Director & Vice President for Otis Middle East since October 2015. Starting his career as an Assistant Sales Manager, he has over 24 years of experience in the industrial sector with more than 19 of those years with Otis in the Middle East region. He joined United National Development Co. L.L.C. (OTIS) in 1997 and became Sales Manager in September 2000. Since May 2009, he served as New Equipment Sales Director for the New Equipment sales business in the UAE and 2 years after, NE Sales Director for the Middle East region.
During his time as General Manager of Otis UAE from April 2012, Maged has been involved in the finalization of major projects in UAE since 1993. Some of these major and iconic projects includes, Burj Khalifa, Central Market, Cleveland Clinic, Mall of Emirates, and Ferrari Experience, Yas Island Abu Dhabi. Maged is witness and part of many ‘firsts’ with Otis including the first double-deck installation in the region at Burj Khalifa.
A B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, Maged is an active member of Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology.
General Manager, UAE & Qatar
Sergio joined UTC in June 2015 as Managing Director BIS Qatar and was instrumental in starting an Otis company in Qatar before becoming the General Manager for UAE & Qatar in 2016. A third generation of the elevator industry, Sergio has 16 years’ of elevator experience. Prior to joining Otis, Sergio worked for Schindler in Spain, Canada and Qatar at different positions from project manager, branch director to Managing Director in Qatar. His most favorite project was the Louvre Museum and he likes to visit the museum often.
Sergio finds the geopolitical situation in the Middle East region quite interesting and follows it closely due to its impact on the elevator business.
Passionate about basketball, he was selected for a basketball first league team. This opportunity taught Sergio how to play on a team which has reflected later on his professional life. He also enjoys skiing, paddle-tennis, tennis and water polo. Sergio holds a BA in Industrial Engineering from Escuela Superior de Ingenieros industrials, Spain and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain.
CFO – Middle East
Shreyas is a finance professional with extensive experience in the elevator industry. Prior to joining Otis 14 years ago, Shreyas worked with Big 4 accounting firms and developed a strong technical knowledge. His ability to drive and support business combined with his background in financial planning and analysis and project management makes Shreyas a valuable asset to Otis.
One of the most notable projects Shreyas worked on was the Burj Khalifa project in Dubai. Other important projects include; Central Market, Cleveland Clinic, the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi and Mall of Emirates, Al Habtoor City projects in Dubai.
When not at work, Shreyas enjoys playing sports such as cricket, volleyball, badminton & traveling. He is passionate about running and has participated in several marathons. These activities help Shreyas focus on business goals and give him energy to work towards them.
Branch Manager Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
No stranger to elevators and escalators, Neville has over 35 years of experience within the elevator and escalator industry. In 1982, Neville joined Otis India as an apprentice and moved to Otis UAE in 1995 as a Field Operations Manager. After a four year hiatus at Schindler, Neville returned to Otis in 2015 and is currently a Branch Manager for Otis UAE.
As a member of the support team for the Burj Khalifa project, Neville enjoyed working with adjusters and on the field manpower requirements and says his love of electronics has added value to his professional success.
Neville holds a bachelors of physics from the University of Bombay and a masters of business administration from University of Wollongong, Wollongong, Australia.
Head of HR, UAE
Sara joined Otis in 2018 with an expertise in building organizational HR functions, as well as people development. Prior to joining Otis as Head of HR in the UAE, Sara held roles as Head of HR in Al Nasr Construction and as the Organizational Development Manager at ABAMI. She is very passionate about bringing simplicity and innovation to HR, while driving a customer centric culture in her team.
Having lived in over 8 different cities and 4 different countries, she is continuously developing and learning from her network of friends and colleagues. She believes her biggest strength is her ability to connect with people, irrespective of age; culture or individual differences.
A lover of the outdoors, Sara prides herself in a healthy work-life balance and is involved in many adrenaline pumping activities, such as skydiving; kitesurfing; wakeboarding and rock climbing. When not spending time outdoors, she acts as a coach and support to entry level professionals for personal development and empowerment.
New Equipment Sales Manager, Otis UAE
In 2000, Bassam joined Otis as a Sales Engineer. During his career with Otis Bassam has held several positions including Senior Sales Engineer and Sales Manager for the Dubai area. Bassam holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and his industry specialty is in marketing, business development and vertical transportation. In 2011, he was promoted to New Equipment Sales Manager for Otis UAE.
Bassam takes pride in his team’s abilities and achievements. He continuously leads the strategic direction and over sight of the company while staying engaged with top clients, keynote projects and staff development.
He aspires to become a good mentor for others and always motivates and instills his passion and dedication for work to the team. He firmly believes that everything we do, we must always do for excellence.
His most memorable projects at Otis are “The Golden Mile” and the iconic “One Zabeel Towers”.
Outside of work, Bassam loves spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys playing football & basketball. He is active in numerous philanthropies and serves the less fortunate children via the feeding program for Bethlehem House and EMMAUS Home for the elderly.
Senior Service Manager- UAE
Thomas’s background in elevators and construction has served him well. Thomas joined Otis in 1999 as a Service Sales Engineer and has held various roles within Otis including Senior Service Sales Engineer, Service Sales Manager and Service Manager, Otis Dubai. Prior to joining Otis, Thomas was an engineer for BK Gulf LLC and Lunar Electro LLC in Dubai. He is currently the Senior Service Manager, Otis UAE.
One of Thomas’s most memorable Otis projects’ was working on the Mall of Emirates. When not at work, Thomas enjoys getting involved in community service, including leading the blood donation drive by OTIS staff in Dubai. He is also a mentor for the College Alumni Forum in Dubai and a member of international organizations such as Toastmasters International & IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
Fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam, Thomas holds a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering from The University of Calicut, India and a MBA from the University of Wollongong, Australia.
Senior NE Field Operations Manager, UAE
Alberto joined Otis in 2004 as a project engineer and held several different project manager roles before being promoted to his current role of Senior NE Field Operations Manager for UAE. Prior to Otis, Alberto worked at Siemens Research and Development Center in Germany as an engineer. His most notable project to date due to its challenges and demands was being part of the Burj Khalifa project in Dubai (the world’s tallest building).
Alberto loves working with people of all levels, solving problems and developing business processes and talent. In addition, Alberto is result oriented and considers himself a driver of operational improvements to ensure tight control on operational costs. He is also very passionate about Artifical Intelligence (AI) and IoT applications in the elevator industry. Both have a very exciting future.
Alberto’s biggest hobby is spending time with his wife and children and staying active and healthy by skiing, sailing and playing baseball and golf. He also coaches and teaches young children outdoor sports through the Dubai Baseball Association - a non-profit organization.
Alberto holds a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Basque Country University, Spain a Masters from Karlsruhe Technische Universitat, Germany and a MBA from IE Business School, Madrid, Spain.
President, Otis Europe, Middle East and Africa
Patrick has been with us since 1991, when he joined the new equipment sales team for Otis France. He progressed through the business, becoming Director, New Equipment Operations and Marketing for Otis France in 2005.
Since then, Patrick’s career has grown from strength to strength. He became Area Director for Eastern Europe and Managing Director, Russia in 2006, before moving up to Vice President, Strategy & Business Development at our global HQ. 2012 saw him appointed as President, Pacific Asia Area and a year later he became President, South Asia Pacific for UTC Building & Industrial Systems (BIS). This encompassed numerous key challenges, such as managing the BIS businesses in India, South East Asia and Australasia. Patrick has also recently served as President BIS, Europe Region.
This exciting range of challenges has prepared and equipped Patrick well for his current position of President, Otis Europe, Middle East and Africa. Based in Brussels, his responsibilities encompass sales, marketing, installation, service, and operations across these regions.
With a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Ecole Superieure Dirigeants d’Enterprise, Paris, Patrick’s academic studies focused particularly on economics, management and human resources. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the French government.
President and CEO, Otis
In her 30-plus years in industry, Judy Marks has witnessed technological advances while applying emerging and mature technologies in a way that benefits society. As President and CEO of Otis, Judy is leading the iconic company through a digital and cultural transformation.
Today, Otis is taking its deep knowledge of the hoistway and using it to create digital solutions that serve customers’ needs in an era of intelligent buildings. This includes IoT-based service solutions with proactive data analytics for predictive maintenance; advanced video analytics and dispatching systems to manage varying traffic patterns; and a new generation of elevators that are connected, smarter, data rich, safer, and more efficient and comfortable than ever.
“We are living in revolutionary times as the world is digitally transforming,” she says. “Our 68,000 colleagues are on a journey together into the future. We’re continuing to innovate, to find new business models, to serve customers with excellence and to disrupt ourselves to become an end-to-end enabler of global passenger mobility.”
Judy has held senior leadership roles at three global icons – IBM, Lockheed Martin and Siemens AG. She was serving as CEO of both Siemens USA and Dresser-Rand, a Siemens business, when appointed President of Otis in 2017.
She built her career on a host of challenging assignments, creating solutions for both global customers and government entities. A self-described technology zealot, Judy applies digital technologies and actively uses social media to amplify the reach of her messages. For Judy, leadership is about creating a sense of mission among employees.
“People make a decision every day about what kind of work they’re going to do,” she says. “That’s what I love about Otis people – they know that what we do matters. Across 200 countries and territories, we service 2 million units and touch 2 billion people every day to keep the world moving.”
Judy serves as a Director of Hubbell Inc. She earned a degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University.
In 2017, Judy was named to the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology and received the Excellence in Leadership Award from the International Society of Automation.
Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, Strategy and Information Technology
In his 27-year career with UTC and Otis, Mark has traveled extensively around the world with varied global and regional leadership positions in the company, including a six-year period residing in Asia.
Starting at Otis in 1989, Mark had numerous roles before moving to Singapore in 1998. There, as Regional Director of Treasury and Asset Management for the Asia Pacific Region, he also worked on acquisitions and integration. In 2001, he transferred to Hong Kong where he was CFO for the South Asia Pacific region, helping restore those companies following the 1998 Asian economic crisis. He returned to the US in 2004 to lead the worldwide Otis Financial Planning & Analysis function.
His diverse background and deep interest in international business led to his move to UTC corporate in 2007 as leader for UTC Financial Planning & Analysis. From there he has added to his varied industry exposure by becoming Carrier Vice President, Finance & CFO, and later CFO for UTC Climate, Controls & Security. He was also Vice President, Finance & CFO for UTC Building & Industrial Systems.
Mark was appointed to his present role of Vice President, Finance & CFO, Strategy and IT for Otis, in October 2015.
Vice President and General Counsel
Nora has some serious working credentials with Otis. She’s held all kinds of legal positions going back to 2000.
Early in her career she was closely involved in our 150th anniversary celebrations, helping to plan and realise a range of events – it really helped Nora connect with our unique heritage and understand the personal pride that people feel being a part of Otis. This belief in the importance of individuals and great working relationships is something that Nora has embraced at every stage:
“I reflect upon my first UTC job a lot – working as a lawyer supporting branches in the southeast US exposed me to the reality of how we succeed – through the dedication of our people to servicing individual customers.”
Nora is a self-proclaimed dog fanatic – and away from work you’ll usually find her 130-pound Newfoundland, Atlas, by her side.
Nora also really enjoys seasonal activities like skiing in the winter and biking and going to the beach all summer. Her love of good food and wine lasts all year round and having travelled widely through work, she can go for some pretty exotic options.
Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Christian began his UTC career at Carrier in 2003, where he worked as Human Resources Director for global operations, before moving to Singapore to lead Carrier’s Asia Pacific HR function.
Returning to the US in 2006, Christian was appointed Vice President, Human Resources, for the global commercial HVAC business. He then joined the UTC Corporate office in 2007, where he directed the global talent function, including executive staffing, succession planning and leadership development.
A passion for sailing has equipped Christian with skills such as patience, dexterity and balance that have served him well in HR across multiple industries, including automotive, publishing and aviation. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Villanova University and a master’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.
Christian is deeply interested in how investments in digital capabilities will impact the role of leaders and how they engage with their employees – something he is keeping a close eye on in his current position of Vice President and CHRO of Otis Elevator Company, which he has held since 2015. In this role, Christian leads all aspects of the global HR function. He’s also a member of the Otis Executive Committee and works closely with the senior executive team to achieve Otis’ strategic business priorities.
A consummate professional, Tony brings more than 30 years’ diverse experience within UTC to his role. He joined Pratt & Whitney in 1984, before progressing through various operations and general management positions with the UTC Corporate office, UTC Fire & Security and Otis. From Director of Worldwide ACE at UTC to Managing Director of Nippon Otis, Tony moved upwards, assuming more responsibility with every step and gaining priceless expertise at the same time.
Before joining Otis Service, Tony was President, Otis China Limited where he drove dramatic growth and increased the service portfolio to more than 100,000 units under contract. He also helped to shape a more innovative and effective service business by introducing many of our advanced and pioneering processes, such as digital tools and specialised service packages for key customer segments.
Today, Tony leads our global service organisation and is a member of the Otis Executive Committee. His game-changing responsibilities include setting our global service standards, spearheading and inspiring innovation, and ensuring the success of our ambitious digital transformation strategy.
Tony gained a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Florida Atlantic University and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
Vice President, Transformation and Chief Digital Officer
Throughout his distinguished career, Neil Green has demonstrated a passion for technology and applying novel innovations to drive market disruption. As Vice President, Transformation and Chief Digital Officer, Neil leads the new global Digital Technology function, responsible for the development of the company’s innovative digital business models and strategic partnerships with external partners.
Neil is a member of the Otis Executive Committee, reporting directly to President Judy Marks. He joined the company in October 2018.
Prior to joining Otis, Neil spent 24 years at Intel Corporation, where he was at the forefront of Intel’s growth from a CPU and PC-centric company to a systems and data-centric company. He most recently served as President and General Manager of Intel’s business with the U.S. Government. Previously, Neil held leadership positions in operations, product strategy, and sales. His experience spans business and initiatives across North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Neil’s multi-disciplinary and global experience, coupled with leadership in the rapidly changing technology sector, make him uniquely qualified to lead the acceleration of the wide-scale application of new technologies to Otis’ operations, products and services.
Neil holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Management of Technology from The Wharton School of Business and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
Vice President, Engineering
As vice president of engineering, Ricardo is leading the global Engineering function in developing innovative technologies that align with our customers’ needs and will drive the future of Otis.
Ricardo brings nearly two decades of UTC experience to his new role. He spent several years in Shanghai heading engineering for Otis China – notably progressing the development of a common platform product and establishing the Shanghai Lead Design Center. Before joining Otis, Ricardo was director of UTC Climate Controls & Security’s Technology and Components, Asia, and Leader of Global Chiller Programs for Carrier. He started his UTC career with the United Technologies Research Center.
Ricardo holds multiple degrees in mechanical engineering, including a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, as well as a joint MBA degree from New York University, Hautes Études Commerciales Paris, and the London School of Economics.
Vice President, Communications
The way we communicate and engage with our customers, passengers and employees is rapidly evolving, with audiences receiving information in new ways and at all times. Randi is leading the global communications function for Otis, helping to navigate this new landscape with clear, effective and consistent strategic communication across the global organization, and with external audiences; our customers, partners and fans.
Randi joined the company in June 2018 and is a member of the Otis Executive Committee, reporting directly to Otis President Judy Marks.
Prior to joining Otis, Randi spent more than a decade at FleishmanHillard where she successfully managed communications and public relations for large, inter-disciplinary global businesses and led high-performing teams for clients including Bose, Autodesk and Booz Allen Hamilton. Prior to FleishmanHillard, she held several roles at CBS television working as a director, producer and writer for nightly newscasts, interview-style programming and other special events.
Randi’s breadth of communications experience, coupled with her multi-industry exposure serve as the foundation for creative, impactful storytelling – ultimately shaping the Otis narrative to win the hearts and minds of the employees, customers and two billion passengers we move every day.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Emory University.
