Otis Wins Significant Contract to Supply Escalators for Tianjin Metro Line 6

Otis Elevator (China) Co. Ltd (OECC) has won a contract to supply 395 escalators for 39 stations on Line 6, a vital new extension for the Tianjin Metro urban rail network. This significant project reconfirms OECC as a trusted partner of Tianjin Metro and a leading escalator supplier to China’s expanding rail system. Serving the important Tianjin municipality, Tianjin Metro is a rapid transit system spanning more than 132 kilometers. Line 6 will provide an extra 56.2 kilometers of track between the Dongli and Jinnan districts. When completed in June 2017, it will pass through six districts: Dongli, Hebei, Hongqiao, Nankai, Hexi and Jinnan and link with Line 5 to form a circular route serving the city.

The Otis Metro Maintenance Management System (OM³S) is a specialized service system that provides expert around-the-clock service for metro customers. Metro service offices have been established in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenzhen and Chengdu transportation centers to provide prompt service and support to metro customers.

Line 6 is an important addition to the Tianjin Metro network, where existing Lines 1, 2 and 3 are served by Otis escalators for reliable public transportation every day. In addition to supporting numerous Tianjin Metro stations, OECC also serves various other rail stations across the city.
