As Senior Vice President of Engineering, Ricardo is leading the global Engineering function in developing innovative technologies that align with our customers’ needs and will drive the future of Otis.

Ricardo brings nearly two decades of experience with Otis and United Technologies Corporation (UTC) – Otis’ former parent company – to his role. He spent several years in Shanghai heading engineering for Otis China, notably progressing the development of a common platform product and establishing the Shanghai Lead Design Center. Before joining Otis, Ricardo was director of UTC Climate Controls & Security’s Technology and Components, Asia, and Leader of Global Chiller Programs for Carrier. He started his career with the United Technologies Research Center.

Ricardo holds multiple degrees in mechanical engineering, including a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, as well as a joint MBA degree from New York University, Hautes Études Commerciales Paris, and the London School of Economics.
