Ian Lau was appointed Vice President & Managing Director of Otis Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan (HMT) in January 2026. He holds comprehensive general management responsibility across all business entities within Otis HMT.

Before assuming his current role, Lau served as Managing Director of Otis Taiwan, overseeing all aspects of the business. He has a proven executive management record, with more than 30 years of experience driving sales growth, and developing and executing plans in complex, global, regulated organizations.

Earlier in his career, Lau held multiple leadership positions in customer engagement, sales operations and business development, including General Manager of Otis Macau, and Director of Service and Director of New Equipment & the Contract Logistics Center for Otis Hong Kong and Macau. He also was responsible for developing multi-brand strategies for elevator solutions and for managing M&A projects.

Lau has passion for technology and has a proven history of introducing comprehensive and innovative elevator and escalator solutions for Otis customers.

Lau received his Electronic & Communications Engineering degree from Bath University in the United Kingdom and MBA degree from Hong Kong University. He is also a Chartered Engineer and a corporate member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the United Kingdom.
