Smart, connected mobility at Luxembourg’s new multi‑experience hub
GridX is one of Europe’s newest multi-experience destinations, bringing together retail, entertainment, mobility, art, hospitality and gastronomy, in the heart of Luxembourg. Over a four-year period, Otis Luxembourg delivered a major installation program comprising 28 units, including 20 elevators, 2 car lifts, and 6 escalators. This achievement marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with the Giorgetti Group, Luxembourg’s largest construction employer, and includes an extended maintenance contract.

Unique requirements
The GridX project demanded strict coordination and uncompromising safety as Otis installed 28 units amid many trades. Throughout the four years of work, Otis — together with the subcontractors under its management — achieved zero accidents, reflecting the rigor of the protocols in place and the transparency of communication. Its scale and diverse environments also required meticulous planning and advanced technical expertise to ensure seamless integration and a consistent, accessible user experience.
Otis innovation
Originally, the GridX project consisted of a single-purpose building. It then evolved into a multiple and connected building site, offering different experiences and designed to welcome many more visitors with much more varied profiles and needs. Otis supported its client through this evolution by adjusting its proposal to the new needs and recommending the appropriate technologies, such as Compass360®, Otis ONE™, and eView™. These connected solutions deliver real-time guidance, clearer communication, and proactive monitoring, improving both user experience and equipment reliability while strengthening the site’s overall accessibility and modern character.

Solution
Otis provided a tailored solution combining advanced products and connected technologies to enhance accessibility, performance and user comfort. The Compass360 destination management system improves passenger flow and reduces waiting times, while the Otis ONE platform enables real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment availability. eView screens further strengthen communication with passengers by displaying safety messages, guidance, and local information.
To support GridX’s sustainability objectives, Otis integrated energy- management technologies designed to optimize the energy consumption of elevators and escalators. These include intelligent standby modes, ReGen™ drive - regenerative drives that recover energy during operation-, and product selection reviewed for their environmental performance.
